HOMEWORK
Your child will have a math homework to complete on a nightly basis. It will always be review or skills previously taught. The assignment is due the next day, completed. Nightly reading will also be assigned on a daily basis. Students will be expected to read a minimum of 30 minutes a night. When filling out planners in school, students will write down their current page number. By the next day, they will need to write down the page they stopped at after reading 30 minutes. It is important that students have that independent reading time at home, as well as in school, in order to improve as readers. In addition to this, students will fill out their planners each day with their homework and reminders for upcoming events. They need to show this to you each night and it must be initialed the next day.
If a student forgets homework at home, they will need to bring it in the next day. If this becomes a regular occurrence where homework is not being turned in, a phone call will be made in order to discuss how the student can complete and turn in homework on time.
